

Voice Training with Dianna Nixon
We are delighted to reccommend Voice Training with Dianna Nixon as a preferred training partner for our dancers.

Dianna has over 40 years of practical experience as a multi-disciplinary performer and educator. Training has included a degree in music from the Victorian College of the Arts, an A.Mus.A (piano), A.Dip. A (drama and music), and short courses in music education, arts pedagogy, choral direction, drama and languages. She holds the international recognised voice accreditation, Estill Figure Proficiency, the only teacher in our region with this qualification.

Awarded a 2012 Churchill Fellowship for overseas voice practice research into The Developing Voice Dianna has attended many international voice events and undertaken a wide range of professional development in the field.
​
Students work on: AMEB exams, school auditions and assessments, Eisteddfods, tertiary auditions, tertiary music degrees, voice transition, professional auditions and role preparation, acting, accents and public speaking. Dianna has a special focus on young people training for careers in music theatre, dance, acting and music. Past students have gone on to further performance study at NIDA, WAAPA, VCA, ANU School of Music, Queensland Conservatorium, Federation Uni, Brent St, Transit Dance, as well as significant overseas institutions, and into professional careers.

Dianna maintains a freelance career as pianist, singer, actor, director and producer, alongside her teaching practice. Dianna is managing director of Music Theatre Projects Ltd, a not-for-profit creative production company ‘creating works and creating work’.​ Information about these projects is available on the MTP website​​​.​
